Story Behind the Bettis Academy Project
VISION2020 & BEYOND has decided to embark on a project that will revitalize the rich heritage and restore the unity of the Bettis Academy Community.We strongly believe Alexander Bettis legacy must be protected and preserved for years to come. Many can remember growing up in the community; it was thriving and fruitful. There was unity amongst the residents. Church revivals were the place for gathering and fellowship, and everyone looked forward to the 4th of July Celebration. The carnival-style festivity ushered in happiness and became the highlight of the year.
However, over the years and with time, the town has almost lost its vibrancy. Most of the elders have transitioned and gotten older. Children of today and grandchildren of tomorrow need to understand and appreciate the legacy of Alexander Bettis and his relenting sacrifice to build an Academy that impacted the community. A goal of this project is to see the Bettis Academy area flourishing again. As a part of the community and the next generation, it is our collective responsibility to take an active role in this project and safeguard the integrity of the community to keep Mr. Alexander Bettis vision alive.
